News culture Jurassic World 3: 5 details not to miss in the World after trailer
Just over a month before its release in our darkrooms, Jurassic World: The World After (or Dominion from the original title) offers fans and the curious a new trailer. Dinosaurs, iconic characters and intrigue… here are the 5 must-see details in the Jurassic World 3 trailer.
- “Life always finds a way”
- Biosyn: the power of genetics
- The Return of Jurassic Park Heroes
- Birds of prey under control!
- New dinosaurs?
“Life always finds a way”
From the first installment of the saga initiated by Steven Spielberg in 1993, the tone was set. No matter how intelligent the human species is, life cannot be properly locked up in a cage. The whole point of Jurassic Park held up and still holds true in 2022 in these few words: “Life always finds a way.” This is still and always the case in Jurassic World: The World According to the new scenario elements revealed by the trailer released on April 28, 2022.
Blue, the velociraptor “trained” as much as possible by Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) in Jurassic World, has found a way to reproduce and raise her offspring in the snowy valleys of North America. Nothing has been clarified as to how this miracle occurred. Traditional fertilization with another male velociraptor? Reproduction linked to its status as a genetically modified creature? These questions will not be missing to find answers by June 8.
Biosyn: the power of genetics
A few years after the events of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, a company proudly took over the investigation initiated by InGen. Biosyn, another multinational company specializing in biogenetics, took over the company from the company founded by John Hammond (Jurassic Park). After the closure of Jurassic World, the destruction of the island and the release of dozens of dinosaurs into the wild, humanity must adapt, something not going smoothly.
dr. Lewis Dodgson, CEO of Biosyn played by Campbell Scott, and Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong – Jurassic Park, Jurassic World) play god by unleashing a new breed of giant locusts on the world capable of destroying the food chain. According to Dr. Ian Malcolm, former InGen consultant and key witness to the San Diego incident (The Lost World: Jurassic Park), “nothing can hold back the power of genetics.” He even backs up his point by stating that “the day of reckoning has run away.” Man would be on the brink of collapse.
The Return of Jurassic Park Heroes
Jurassic World: The World After promises to be the conclusion of the trilogy, as well as the entire Jurassic Park saga. For nearly three decades, fans have followed the adventures of these dinosaurs brought back to grace by the oh-so-dangerous power of genetics. It was more than clear that some of the iconic characters from the franchise would be making a comeback, even the time of a simple cameo, to come full circle as it should. Fan service required! In this fast-paced, informative new trailer, we’re reunited with the heroes and heroines that made Jurassic Park famous in the early 90s, dinosaurs aside… of course.
The actors and actresses Sam Neil† Laura Dern et Jeff Goldblum take on the roles of Alan Grant’s paleontologist, paleobotanist Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm. Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) et Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood) are necessarily part of the journey. To complete this high-flying cast, Omar Sy returns to the saga as Barry Sembène, the trainer who assisted Owen Grady in the Jurassic World park’s velociraptor fencing.
Birds of prey under control!
Far-fetched as it may sound, InGen attempted to turn velociraptors into biological weapons on behalf of the US military in the movie Jurassic World, with more or less success. This company, in the person of Eli Mills and who, in memory, created the Indominus Rex, continues in this direction by bringing the Indoraptor to life in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Making dinosaur docile soldiers is still relevant in Jurassic World: The World After.
In this third installment, man even seems to have refined his creation. The velociraptors react wildly to an unspecified command just after escaping their cages and preparing to attack their prey. We can see the same birds of prey hunting on the streets of a sunny town Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. Turning dinosaurs into weapons is no longer science fiction in the Jurassic Park universe.
The stars of the show have always been and will always be the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park saga. That was already the case in 1993 and nothing has changed in 2022. The development of fictional creatures in the first two parts of the “World” trilogy surprised fans, for better or for worse. Should we “fear” the appearance of fantastic dinosaurs in Jurassic World: The World After? There’s no evidence that director Colin T. Trevorrow and his teams went down this road again.
From what we know and especially seen in the trailers, the great “classics” of the series are making a remarkable comeback as the headliner of the mosasaurle Gigantosaurusle Tyrannosaurus Rex and the dilophosaurus† New dinosaurs are also answering the call of Jurassic World 3. So we can use the . to mention: pyroraptorle dimetrodon and finally the terrifying oviraptor†
Jurassic World: The World After will hit theaters in France on June 8, 2022.
