The forces present
Since her arrival on our soil, DATTHIREY (5) has always been on stage. Second to her return to Chantilly, especially to TUDO BEM (3), this resident of Vaclav Luka can make her first attempt with a disability.
A safe bet at this level, KILFRUSH MEMORIES (1) is much better than its last outing indicates. In this lot, a redemption on his part is perfectly possible. With two courses under his belt now, BE AHEAD (10) is also part of the good odds of this event with KING ROBBE (12), whose good form is beyond doubt.
Recently seen at Moulins, TUDO BEM (3) and MUBAALEGH (2) took fourth and first place respectively in the same event last year. We will then keep them for RAYSTEVE (9), lower in weight, and WEJDAN (4), third for his return to the Quinté+ benchmark of March 28 during this course.

GET A LEAD
IT IS WELL
The starters in detail and the opinion of the pros
1 – KILFRUSH MEMORIES
Fourth for his return to the Quinté+ reference on this circuit on March 28, this heavy handicap specialist is worth much more than his last appearance in Chantilly indicates. In this lot, it makes sense to expect a buyback.
The reporter’s opinion:
“While it remained a very good series, Kilfrush Memories (1) disappointed on April 20. It must be said to his defense that he did not get off to a great start that day. Already winner of two Quinté+ and confirmed on this Fontainebleau circuit, it should not be judged too quickly. †
2 – MUBAALEGH
Winner of two Quinté+ at the same circuit last year, this son of Dark Angel has just finished third on Tudo Bem (3) in Moulins. He has lost 2 pounds from his previous failure in the main race on March 28, but he still needs to be monitored for his return to a handicap.
The reporter’s opinion:
“Two-time winner of Quinté+ last year, Mubaalegh (2) was unable to show his advantage at the reference event on March 28. He then partly redeemed himself by finishing third at Moulins over the 1,000 meters, a distance that suits him better. He has the quality and experience to be talked about again in such a field. †
3 – IT IS WELL
This native of Mathieu Boutin, who has not been on the slopes for over five months, is now back in shape, as evidenced by his latest success at Moulins. Fourth in the same event last year, it will have supporters in this area.
Hugo Boutin, jockey:
“Third at Chantilly, in a field that he did not necessarily like, Tudo Bem (3) was doing well at Moulins. It is in good condition and has a lot of theoretical luck in this Quinté+. †
4 – WEJDAN
When she made her comeback, this daughter of Dabirsim immediately distinguished herself, on March 28, by finishing third after Snow Empress (6) in the key race. Along the way, it can still be discussed at this level.
Maurizio Guarnieri, coach:
“Wejdan (4) ran very well before his comeback. It should be even more comfortable on a less flexible track. She worked well and I hope for a good performance from her. †
5 – DATTHIREY
Since her arrival in France, this native of Vaclav Luka has always been on the podium. Second to her return to Chantilly, especially to Tudo Bem (3), she can make her first attempt with a disability.
Vaclav Luka, coach:
“Datthirey (5) ran very well last time. The 1,200 meters represent her maximum distance, but she is in good shape and enjoying the terrain. At this weight, I think she has a good chance. †
6 – SNOW EMPRESS
While still looking for a first public success, this resident of Christophe Ferland unlocked her counter for her comeback on March 28 by winning in the reference Quinté+. She will be fined 3.5 kilos here. To have.
Christophe Ferland, coach:
“Snow Empress (6) responded as soon as he returned. Last year she tended to shoot. Once I started to shorten it, it was much better. Despite her weight penalty, she can repeat. †
7 – FAVARITX
Second in a Quinté+ on the Deauville straight last summer, this resident of Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez didn’t seem to like the course with a corner in Marseille-Vivaux on his last attempt. It should be more comfortable on this straight track.
Mauricio Delcher Sanchez, coach:
“Favaritx (7) did not finish his race in Marseille, on a route with a bend that disoriented him. It’s better in a straight line, but at this handicap value it has quite a complicated program and seems a bit odd to me at this level. †
8 – POWER CAPTAIN
While he faced less severe competition, this 7-year-old gelding won very easily on his last attempt in Toulouse. Punished with 4.5 kilos for this success, he finds here a category where he has always failed. Not easy.
Henri-Alex Pantall, trainer:
“After a somewhat complicated 2021 season, Forza Capitano (8) had to regain its confidence. We made easier promises to him and he just won easily in Toulouse. He is doing well in training, but for this success in a small handicap he was penalized 4.5 kilos. †
9 – RAYSTEVE
Winner of a Quinté+ at the end of last season at Chantilly’s PSF, this native of Elias Mikhalides was more discreet during his last two outings in this category. With 2 pounds lowered by the handicapper, he is unable to recall our fond memories.
Benoit Goujon, Sparkling Stars team manager:
“Last time we took the option of mounting Raysteve (9) closer to the head. Being one-eyed, he felt oppressed in the midst of others and did everything in apnea. His number 15 in the stalls will be an advantage for him here. He has already won at this level and is doing very well in training. Swift, things should be fine this Wednesday. †
10 – GET A LEAD
Sixth in the Quinté+ reference of March 28 on this circuit before his comeback, this native of François Monfort has just followed a fourth place behind Clever Candy (11) in Chantilly. Again, we will have to take that into account.
Francois Monfort, coach:
“Be Ahead (10) didn’t have much luck last time and could have finished in the top two, at the end of a clearer course. She is great at training. Without margin it can win a second Quinté+, but that often amounts to little in these kinds of races. †
11 – SMART SWEETS
Winner of a claim with Chantilly on April 4, this Intelli daughter boldly doubled the bet 16 days later, handicapped, still on the Chantilly straight. Punished with 2.5 kilos, she will try to use her form to scramble the cards.
Sascha Smrczek, trainer:
“Clever Candy (11) won during her two appearances under my training. She shows great form in training but was penalized 5lb for her latest win. For her debut in this category, she can finish in the top seven. The right ground will serve his interests. †
12 – KING ROBBE
This son of Zanzibari, third behind Clever Candy (11) on April 20, recently confirmed his renewed form by finishing fifth in a Quinté+ over 1,400 meters in ParisLongchamp. Along the way, it promises to be competitive again.
Hugo Boutin, his last jockey:
“Without being very happy, King Robbe (12) just ran very well in Quinté+ last Wednesday. He needs a rhythmic run-up and will therefore not be disturbed by shortening the distance. You should know that this Fontainebleau racecourse is doing well. †
13 – SAINTS OF THE SEA
Punished with 2 kilos after a victorious comeback on this course, this son of Lope de Vega quickly lost ground and finished in the reference Quinté+ on March 28. In his defense it must be said that he was forced to gallop with his nose to the wind that day.
Jeremy Leras, trainer:
“Before returning to Quinté+, Santi Del Mare (13) had not inherited a good string number. He could not find his back and had to gallop with his nose against the wind. He’s better in the stable this time. With a trail hidden behind the first we hope to take up a place. †
14 – MARIE’S PICNIC
With the arrival of three Quinté+ this winter at Deauville’s PSF, this native of Mario Baratti found only Clever Candy (11) to block her way to success on April 4 in Chantilly in a claiming event. Fitted with Australian blinkers for the first time, a surprise on its part cannot be ruled out.
Mario Baratti, coach:
“At the end of last season, Marie’s Picnic (14) didn’t run very well during her only appearance in Fontainebleau, but came out badly that day. Because she will wear the Australian blinkers for the first time on Wednesday, she will be ridden quite offensively. In good condition and aided by its low weight, it can take up a place. †
15 – BAKING COFFEE
In form, this son of Naaqoos has just won the 1,500 meters of the PSF in Marseille-Vivaux from start to finish. Supplemented at the start of this Quinté+, shortening the distance will not be a problem for her. Attention !
Mauricio Delcher Sanchez, coach:
« Bakul Koffie (15) has just won and has a bit of morale. At 8 years old, he doesn’t always want to fight anymore, but he can still do well for this value. With his favorite jockey, Eddy Hardouin, still riding him very well, I hope to see him return to good performances in this category. †
16 – NEMBA
Although she had not been seen since October, this resident of Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez appeared victorious in Salon-de-Provence on April 8. She aims much higher this time. Without us.
The reporter’s opinion:
“Laureate of this course last September, Nemba (16) insisted as soon as she returned to Salon-de-Provence. She was fined 3 kilos for this success and will have to raise her game level again on Wednesday for her debut at this level. †
