Guillaume Gomez, the chef of the Élysée Palace in 2021, also called this accident an “unfair and terrible tragedy”. Antoine Alléno followed in his father’s footsteps and already took on the role of chef in the gourmet burger restaurant he ran with his father. “You were a smiling, funny young chef with a bright future,” Guillaume Gomez wrote on Twitter on Monday:

The traffic accident happened around 11:20 p.m. on the night of Sunday 8 May to Monday 9 May 2022 at the corner of Place de la Résistance and Avenue Bosquet in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. An Audi RS6 traveling at full speed hit a VTC car and then Antoine Alléno’s electric self-service scooter stopped at a red light. The driver of the Audi, a 25-year-old man, is said to have stolen the luxury car from the parking lot of restaurant Coya by giving the servant a fake ticket. Yannick Alléno’s son died instantly while his passenger and the driver of the VTC were taken to hospital, without their vital prognosis being affected. The passenger suffered bruises and was treated in shock.

According to a police source reported by Le Parisien, the suspect was “so drunk that he cannot remember exactly under what circumstances he caused this tragedy”.
